Layla Has Announced Her Retirement

Damn, this is hard, as I've wondered what the hell Layla had been doing for a while. While most might remember her most as one-half of heel Diva crew LayCool, she's been in our hearts ever since she graced the WWE with her presence.

We know she'd been dealing with some kind of illness over the last year or so ago, and when she came back she got next to no time on WWE programming, including Total Divas (although she had been featured from time to time.

She gave the WWE an interview with her announcement. Kind of crazy to think it's almost been nine full years since she debuted, and during her time she held both the WWE Divas title and the WWE Women's title one time each.

We salute Layla and all that she does. Check out some of her career highlights below.

While news of The Bella Twins leaving the WWE at the end of April still hurting guys to their heart, this rumor that hit the Internet might perk them right back up:

Rumors are that WWE Diva Layla will return to TV once RAW and SmackDown return from the current overseas tour.

Personally, I've been waiting for Layla's return since she got sidelined. It's a different climate right now, and I can't even assume where she'll end up. I'd love to see her continue as a face, but with Michelle McCool no longer active, bringing back Simply Flawless might not work. Layla always worked better as a heel to me, anyways. Whatever the case may be, I can't wait to see her return.
