You've heard that many stars are set to be featured during tonight's #RAW1000 extravaganza, which as you know is set to kick off their move to a three hour show. Among stars like Shawn Michaels, The Rock, Roddy Piper, Mick Foley, Bret Hart, Brock Lesnar, Jim Ross, Mae Young, Sean Waltman, Sid Vicious, Road Warrior Animal, Jim Duggan, Vader and more, the one and only "Jive Soul Bro", Slick, is said to be appearing. He was always one of my favorite heel managers, especially since he was the first African American manager within the WWF, helping push guys like Akeem, the Big Boss Man, Kamala, Rick Martel, Zeus and plenty more. The "Jive Soul Bro" video is a thing of legend, and just seeing a brother like that get the people so riled up was a thing of beauty. I imagine he won't have a crazy long feature during tonight's show - maybe he'll interact with AW!! - but I'm gonna pop whenever I see him, trust.

As we've been documenting over the last 8 or 9 months, Kamala's health issues have come back up. Not that he's had a new struggle to overcome, but a new fund has been set up by WrestlersRescue.org; they are looking to help assist Kamala's mounting bills for medical care, basic living costs and whatever other expenses he'll now have to deal with after recently losing both of his legs due to complications from diabetes. Word on the Internets is that James Harris, aka Kamala (the Ugandan Giant), recently had to have his foot aputated due to complications with diabetes. I was actually listening to a Tracy Morgan bit, talking about how Black people describe medical ailments, and diabetes was "you know you're gonna have to lose that foot". I actually just reminisced on Kamala briefly during the latest blackrasslin podcast, so this is fucking wild. I already spoke Alicia Fox onto WWE programming, but I wasn't trying to do this. Kamala is truly a legend in Black Rasslin'. Hailing from my home-state Mississippi, Kamala has been involved in pro wrestling has more than 25 years. While his wrestling and talking skills were limited at best, his Ugandan Giant gimmick minimizes these weakness.

As for his gimmick itself, it's kinda of shady but mostly of all media outlets showcase African warriors as such. So we should not expect pro wrestling to be immune to this.
